Inspired last year by Queen Sugar star, Kofi Siriboe, our church family pledged to feed the Homeless again this year on Easter Sunday. Members brought food to church with them. After service, the Mother’s Ministry led a “Fix The Plates” activity where members fixed To-Go plates for the Homeless.
The plates were filled with Baked & Fried Chicken, Macaroni & Cheese, Peas, Beans, Bread, Cakes, Salads, and much more!
After service, many of the Metro members carpooled downtown under the bridge where many of the Homeless take residence. We sang, prayed, hugged, and greeted them with the Love of Christ while giving them the prepared food plates and sodas.
It was a great experience for the young and the old. Many of the youth participated again this year and helped to clean when the outreach activity was over. We are proud that our kids continue to learn the importance of Community Service.
